Creating Device Groups

Device groups help you organize the devices within a site for easier management. Device groups are dynamic. Any devices currently enrolled and devices that are enrolled in the future that fit the criteria will be automatically added to the group.

For example, if you create a group with the criteria make = Zebra, every device currently in your device inventory that is a Zebra device will be added to the group. Then, if you enroll more Zebra devices next week, those devices will also be automatically added to the group.

To create a new device group:

  1. Navigate to your site, and select the Site Management tab.

  2. In the Device Groups section, click Add.

  3. Enter a name for the device group.

  4. Enter criteria to select which devices belong to the group. Remember, device groups are dynamic. Any devices currently enrolled and devices that are enrolled in the future that fit the criteria will be automatically added to the group.

  5. Click Save.
